Miss Greater Salt Lake, Sasha Sloan Crowned Miss Utah 2021; Class of 2021 Awarded $27,500 in Scholarships

On June 12, 2021, Miss Greater Salt Lake, Sasha Sloan was crowned Miss Utah 2021 and awarded a $10,000 scholarship at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo, Utah.

Over the next year, Sasha will travel the state performing, sharing her social impact initiative, “RISE for Refugees: Refugee Inclusivity, Support, and Education,” and serving as a state ambassador for The Miss Utah Scholarship Organization. Sasha will also represent the state at the Miss America Competition in Connecticut later this year.

Sasha hails from North Salt Lake and is a Senior at Brigham Young University studying political science. She is an aspiring political news analyst and New York Times bestselling fantasy author.

During the third night of the preliminary competition, she received the preliminary red carpet award and a $100 scholarship. Along with the title of Miss Utah 2021 and a $10,000 scholarship, Murdock Hyundai gave her the keys to a brand new car for the year. During her year of service, she will also receive multiple in-kind donations and services from the proud sponsors of the Miss Utah Organization.

  • Sadie Huish Memorial — Miss Dixie State University, Morgan Olson ($1,000 scholarship)
  • Spirit of Miss Utah — Miss Pleasant Grove, Brooklin Allen ($200 scholarship)
  • Miss Photogenic — Miss Southern Utah, Hillary Beecher ($300 photoshoot session with Emily Lesher Photography)
  • Judge’s Pick Non-Finalist Award — Miss Rocky Mountain, Sisilia Kaufusi ($300 scholarship)
  • Kelly Hale Non-Finalist Interview Award — Miss Garfield County, Brenley Veater ($200 scholarship)
  • Kelly Hale Non-Finalist Talent Award — Miss Murray, Sarah Nelson ($200 scholarship)
  • Kelly Hale Non-Finalist Red Carpet Award — Miss Southern Utah, Hillary Beecher ($200 scholarship)

In total, $27,500 in scholarships were made available to the Miss Utah Class of 2021.
