Miss Utah Scholarship Organization Announces New 2021 Venue

The Miss Utah Scholarship Organization is excited to announce some changes to the Miss Utah 2021 Scholarship Competition. Every decision has been made with our candidates in mind, and our top priority is ensuring that they have a traditional, authentic Miss Utah experience. The detailed updates can be found below:

  1. The Miss Utah 2021 Scholarship Competition has been moved to the Covey Center for the Arts, located at 425 W. Center Street, Provo, UT 84601. The Covey Center has been the home of the Miss Utah’s Outstanding Teen Competition for many years, and we are thrilled that the Covey Center will allow our candidates to all be together for each preliminary competition and participate in visitation after each competition.

  2. Our host hotel is now the Hyatt Place Provo, located at 180 W. 100 N. Provo, UT 84602. The Provo Marriott, Shops at Riverwoods, and Utah Valley Convention Center will also be event hosts during Miss Utah week.

  3. Utah County’s COVID-19 regulations differ from Salt Lake County’s, but the following guidelines will still be enforced during Miss Utah week:

    1. Candidates and state volunteers will be required to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of check-in.

    2. Candidates and state volunteers are encouraged to quarantine for 10 days prior to check-in.

    3. Masks and social distancing will be expected and enforced in the hotel lobby, gathering spaces, backstage, the Covey Center lobby, and in the Covey Center auditorium.

    4. If a candidate tests positive for COVID-19 within 72 hours of check-in or during Miss Utah week, she is not eligible to compete at the Miss Utah 2021 Scholarship Competition.

  4. As mentioned above, all candidates will now participate in all three preliminary competitions. The updated competition schedule is as follows:

Preliminary Competition #1: Thursday, June 10 7:00pm

ALPHA: Onstage Interview/Social Impact Pitch
SIGMA: Red Carpet

Preliminary Competition #2: Friday, June 11 3:00pm
MU: Red Carpet
ALPHA: Talent
SIGMA: Onstage Interview/Social Impact Pitch

Preliminary Competition #3: Friday, June 11, 7:00pm
MU: Onstage Interview/Social Impact Pitch
ALPHA: Red Carpet
SIGMA: Talent

Final Competition: Saturday, June 12, 7:00pm
Top 11 + People’s Choice compete in all areas of competition

 

We look forward to having our candidates all together at the theater with their friends and families supporting them in-person at the competition and visitation. A livestream of each competition will be available to purchase for those who are unable to attend the competition in person.
