The first of three nights of preliminary competition for the Miss Utah Scholarship Pageant begins today for the 50 young women vying for the title of Miss Utah 2017.
Contestants are divided into three groups; Alpha, Mu and Sigma, and will perform a different area of competition on their corresponding night. The top 12 will be announced Saturday night and will then compete for the crown.
Miss Utah 2016, Lauren Wilson, joined us today with the Alpha group. Watch the clip to hear how Miss Utah 2016 feels about passing on the title and how contestants are feeling going into their first night of competition.
