On Thursday, December 16, 2021, the Miss America competition named Miss Utah, Sasha Sloan as a top ten finalist in the 100th anniversary Miss America competition at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. She received an $8,500 scholarship for placing as a finalist in the 2022 Miss America competition.
The competition was streamed live on NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, allowing audiences to stream the event live across all time zones. Sasha had the opportunity to introduce herself to the nation and perform her talent, a vocal solo of, “That’s Life.”
Miss America Scholarships
Earlier in the week, Sasha was recognized and received two scholarships for her social impact initiative efforts, totaling $7,000. In total, Sasha earned $15,500 in scholarships from the Miss America competition!
The most recent titleholder to place as a top 15 semi-finalist was Miss Utah 2012, Kara Arnold. Miss Utah 2019, Dexonna Talbot was also named a finalist for the Social Impact Initiative scholarship competition.
Sasha will continue her year of service in Utah performing, serving, and furthering her social impact initiative until June 2022.
