Miss Utah Organization Announces New doTERRA STEM Scholarships

Today the Miss Utah Organization (MUO) announced two new doTERRA Excellence in STEM Awards available to contestants competing for the title of Miss Utah 2018. The MUO will announce the two winners of the $500 scholarships during the 2018 Miss Utah pageant.

“doTERRA proudly supports STEM education in Utah and appreciates the opportunity to present STEM scholarships to Miss Utah contestants who have shown skill and curiosity in these critical fields,” said Missy Larsen, senior director of government relations and corporate partnerships at doTERRA. “Our world is changing daily and will continue to demand dedication and commitment from every young adult who enters the workforce.  doTERRA relies on scientists who focus on discovering the unending therapeutic properties of nature. As more and more natural healthcare solutions are explored, doTERRA will continue to offer integrated health and wellness products and services and lead world-changing advancements.”

A state titleholder is eligible if she is enrolled with a declared major field of study in science, technology, engineering, or math at a public or private two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school. She is also eligible if she has a STEM-related platform that she’s promoted during her year as a local titleholder.

During the week of the 2018 Miss Utah pageant, eligible contestants will interview with a panel of judges working in a STEM-related field. The awards will be given to contestants who have demonstrated excellence in a STEM-related field and their scholastic achievements.

Since 2014, the Miss America Foundation has “developed a solid working relationship with the U.S. Department of Education on STEM education initiatives.” Each year, the Miss America Organization awards three STEM scholarships at the Miss America pageant. The Miss Utah Organization is excited to carry on this tradition at a state level with the help of doTERRA.

I’m so excited to hear the news! I’m the STEM Ambassador for Utah Government Office of Economic Development. On June 2nd I get to meet with Governor Gary R Herbert as he gives me my STEM certificate for volunteering over 20+ hours. I’ve lived the STEM values for years and am so excited to teach others. How do I apply for this scholarship? Sincerely, Ansley Funes 2018 Miss Utah County
