Dear Five-Year-Old JessiKate

Dear 5-year-old JessiKate,

I want you to think, what are you doing that makes you happy? I know that music has been a big part of your life for two years now, so keep it up!

You will soon be old enough to learn that people aren’t always nice. Sometimes when you are different, others feel they need to bring you down. You will have a lot of people who will call you names, tease you, and say mean things. Be kind to them! They just don’t understand, but someday you will.

In a couple of years, all of the negativity will affect your brain and body in a way you won’t understand. Please remember that you are loved! Your friends and family are always there for you, and you should talk to them! Stay focused on your music because I know it will take you places!

Someday, you will find a place where you belong. It is called The Miss America Organization. You will find this organization during one of your most challenging times in life. Stay true to your character and your love of music. These things, alongside the organization, will make you a strong leader and a listening ear to those who need you.

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”

You have more potential than you know.

Don’t you ever give up!

Love,
21-year-old JessiKate
